Roofing Guidelines

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AN ARC APPLICATION WHEN REPLACING YOUR ROOF. IF YOUR ROOF REPLACEMENT IS ON THE APPROVED LIST NO FURTHER APPROVAL WILL BE NEEDED FROM THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE.

In 2012 there was a major addition to our roofing options. A roofing committee was appointed by the Board of Directors. This committee researched and evaluated new roof selections and made a report to the Architectural Review Committee. New Roofing Guidelines were approved by the ARC and are now available to homeowners. If you don't see your preferred roof choice on the approved list; you can fill out an ARC application and request a review. See our Roofing Report below for a list of the roof options your neighbors have been choosing.

A new roof is one of the largest expenses a homeowner will incur to maintain their home. The homes in our neighborhood are at the gestation where many of us will soon be replacing our roof if we haven’t already done so. Previous to 2012 the only reasonable roof choice available in Wilsonville Meadows was Cedar Shake. Cedar roofs increase the cost of homeowner's insurance because they're considered a safety hazard; they're truly an outdated option. The quality of composition roofs available today are superior in many facets. We're thankful to the roofing committee who researched and proposed numerous brands. Our roofing committee (which was a team of homeowners who volunteered their time) did a great job educating themselves on different roofing specifications and products. They were able to identify criteria and then select roof options that were suitable for Wilsonville Meadows. This committee went above and beyond by organizing a roof fair with all the major roof manufacturer's present (for our entire community) at the Wilsonville public library. They were also featured in an article in the Wilsonville Spokesman. We are very grateful for their hard work and the new roof options that were implemented.
